The Killing of Faith William Holms

 

This was a superbly narrated piece of self-discovery and realization. The protagonist goes through life making her share of flawed decisions, and Holms deftly weaves her story in and out of her perspective, helping the reader understand what is wrong with her, but at the same time, keeping her ignorant and oblivious to her own faults. This is a challenging perspective to take, and Holms does a good job with this narration style. We desperately start wishing that the protagonist would realize how self-centered and critical she is, and how she should open her eyes and realize how much love she is being shown by one person. She realizes this, albeit a tad late, but killing that "selfish and self-absorbed" person in her. I loved reading this and my thanks to Holms and Voracious Readers for gifting me with a copy of this book.
