This was soooo wow! Weaving threads of women's struggles in the Napolean era, in the background of historical industrial revolution, Rosenberg spins a masterpiece here. Barbe-Nicole Cliquot is an inspiration by herself, leave alone her accomplishments that are not that easily quantifiable. How would you praise heaps on a woman that decides the defy the society, the ruler, and the very foundation of constitutional conditioning that had decided what women can be permitted to do and what not to be?!
Having inherited the gift of keen smell from her grandfather and keen on pursuing her quest for creating the best Champagne, BNC does not let the fact that she is the only woman in the industry deter her. However, when life deals her several blows, some of which look insurmountable, does she persevere?
This was a brilliant read and I thoroughly loved it. Rosenberg's writing is super engaging. My thanks to Rosenberg and Voracious Readers for gifting me with a copy of this book.
