A Promise Apart by Melinda Class

This was a heart-warming tale, promising survivors of trauma that a fairy tale life is not out of reach. I loved the pacing and narration, and the characterization was superb. Will and Sam after having drifted apart, are brought back by destiny - Class captures their history and backstories well, as she does the handling of Sam's present-day suffering from abuse. Will is ready to move mountains to ensure the safety of Sam and her child, but would fate allow that? It's a sweet slow-burn romance and I had a great time reading this. My thanks to Class and Voracious Readers for gifting me with a copy of this book.
