Bluebird by Sharon Cameron

 

This historical fiction piece starts in 1946, when the world is still reeling under the impact of the recently concluded brutal WWII. With our protagonist Eva landing in a new continent escaping the wrath of her native country, we quickly understand that Eva's motive is not just to take care of her ward but also for Operation Bluebird, a deadly experiment which gets more shockingly gory and mind-blowingly inhuman the more we read about it. But Eva's plans are very far from aiding the project. With an engrossing plot and a very brisk pace, this novel is unputdownable. I enjoyed the parallel narrations with the two leads. This was my first Cameron read and I loved it all the way. Many thanks to Edelweiss, Cameron, and Rockstar for gifting me with an advance copy of this book for my review.
