Quick & Short Review -- "City of Girls" by Elizabeth Gilbert

City of GirlsCity of Girls by Elizabeth Gilbert
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Vivian Morris — whew! She is one protagonist who’ll stay in my mind for ages to come. Gilbert is a master of characterisation and she excels at how she has crafted Vivian - compassionate, unapologetically promiscuous, unpretentious, and a super talented costumer. Vivian is in her twilight years in the present day, but as she takes us through her journey as a 19-year old, the visualisation from Gilbert is striking. She brings the yesteryear theatre world with all its jazz and splash vividly to the mind. A spunky of piece of fiction. Loved it.
