Book Description:
When souls intersect deeply, but their paths are separate...
After a harrowing experience from his service in the military, Matt returns only to find his marriage to the love of his life is over. In the midst of his darkness, Matt seeks peace camping in Wyoming, where he meets Nicole, an intriguing woman who shifts his perspective, and changes his life forever. As their connection deepens, their relationship uncovers the fears that are holding both of them back.
Matt isn’t the only one with an unresolved love in his past. Waiting in the wings is Sam, Nicole’s business partner and best friend. The pair have a history of more than just catering and event planning, but Nicole has always been afraid of letting Sam get too close.
In this novel of self-discovery, compassion and healing, Nicole and Matt are brought to a greater understanding and acceptance of themselves, and who they are in the world.
Book Review:
The protagonists, Matt and Nicole, have had their shares of disappointments and let downs in life. The very last thought on their minds is taking another chance. However, they discover, initially much to their chagrin, that they hold no power against destiny. When fate throws them together in a chance meeting, they are forced to reconsider the plans they have set for themselves.
With a simple plot but a powerful narration, this book is a heart-warming tale of resilience and love. I loved the positivity that emanated from the dialogues and the scenes, despite the bad pasts that had initially marred the characters' hopes. I specifically liked the characterization of Nicole, who is a fabulous combination of a free-flying spirit, and a meekness that comes from having faced a lot of failures in life.
Many thanks to author Karen Hamilton and Lauren (iRead Book Tours) for gifting me with a copy of this book for an honest review.
