Charged with a crime as serious as murder, and bordering on deeming herself insane, Margaret is our dynamite protagonist. Trying to grapple with reality and taking the suggestions of Alec, her psychiatric counselor, she decides to chronicle the events of the past in a book, and much as the counselor, we are left eagerly wanting to know how the events transcended. Her late husband's Ben spirit that haunts her, her former student who suddenly lands up on her doorstep with a child, the man who comes in pursuit of the student and the child, all add up to the mystery. The brilliant "Dear Ben" letters were my most favorite parts of the book, as they lay bare all that Margaret's mind is struggling with and all that she is trying to make sense of.
The author is brilliant at story-telling and narration. The plot was engaging, the pace was gripping, and the writing was astounding. The non-verbose and succinct writing style was so very refreshing. I can't wait to read her other works.

About Molly Best Tinsley

In an episode of sanity, award winning author, Molly Tinsley resigned from the English faculty at the US Naval Academy and moved west to write full-time. . She is the author of MY LIFE WITH DARWIN (Houghton Mifflin) and THROWING KNIVES (Ohio State University Press), she also co-authored SATAN'S CHAMBER (Fuze Publishing) and the textbook, THE CREATIVE PROCESS (St. Martin's). Her more recent books are the memoir ENTERING THE BLUE STONE and another Victoria Pierce spy thriller, sequel to SATAN'S CHAMBER: BROKEN ANGELS.
